The Festival Queen Who Lost it All & Gave So Much (1982 - Teresa Matthews)

In this episode we're going back to the future....yep we're off to the 80s, where bigger was always better.

Teresa Matthews was crowned Festival Queen in 1982, in a time where discos were the fundraising activity of choice.

She was the queen who lost everything in a fire, but we still have her crown, sash, sceptre and gown, because Teresa donated them to the Stanthorpe Museum so that everyone could enjoy them, and learn more about the history of the Southern Downs.

I went out to the Storm King area, south-east of Stanthorpe for a fantastic chat with Teresa Matthews.
